Sustainability Becomes a Decisive Factor in Real Estate Valuation.

Sustainability is emerging as an essential criterion in the valuation of real estate assets in Portugal. According to the consulting firm Cushman & Wakefield, the integration of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria has become a decisive factor in the evaluation and appreciation of assets. The number of BREEAM and LEED certifications has almost tripled compared to the previous year, particularly in the retail and office segments.

Additionally, a recent study indicates that more than 60% of property buyers consider sustainability a decisive factor when purchasing a new home. This shift in consumer behavior reflects greater awareness of the impact of their choices on the environment and society.
